Luis Gerardo Molina completed his Music Bachelor’s Degree at the University of the Americas Puebla, Mexico and Brock University in St Catharines, Canada. He received piano performance education from world-class pianists such as Yolanda Castro, Ana Maria Tradatti, Oscar Tarrago, Bernard Flavigny, Dr. Jorge Federico Osorio, Faritza Tchivirova, and Dr. Karin Dibella among others. In 2020 he completed the master’s degree in Music Literature and Performance at Western University studying with the recognized Canadian pianist Leslie Kinton, a member of the Internationally celebrated Canadian piano duo Anagnoson & Kinton.

Luis’ piano performer career encompasses international competitions and performances in France, U.S.A., Germany, Poland, Russia, Mexico and Canada. He received the third prize of the National Competition of Veracruz University in 1996; third prize in the A.M.S.A. (American Music Scholarship Association) Piano Competition in Washington D.C. in 2005, second place in a Boston International Piano Competition in 2005; and first prize in the International Piano Competition at the Sorbone’s amphitheater in Paris, France in 2003. Luis has also performed for more than fifteen years in top venues such as the Austria Embassy in Washington D.C., 2004; Invalides Concert Hall in Paris, 2006; Music Instruments Museum Concert Hall in Berlin, 2005; Radio France live broadcasting, Paris, 2008; Regional Conservatory of Nice, 2009; Asian-Pacific International Arts Festival, Krasnoyarks, Russia, 2015; Poland Concert Tour performing in Warsaw, Poniatova, Lublin, and Zakopane, 2016; and Niagara Falls Summer Concert Series, Canada, 2017.  
  In 2013, Luis recorded a piano recital for the Mexican TV cultural series “Camerata 22”. He has been soloist of several Symphonic Orchestras such as: Michoacan Symphonic Orchestra, Coyoacan Symphonic Orchestra, Zapopan Youth Symphony Orchestra, Normalista Symphonic Orchestra, Puebla State Symphonic Orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Republican Guard of Paris, and the Peninsula Orchestra of the Niagara region from Canada.

Luis teaches piano to students from all levels and ages and he has wide experience in vocal, choral and instrumental accompanying, chamber music performing, and opera rehearsals.


Marcela Lagunas Burgos, Violoncellist.


Marcela Lagunas Burgos was born in Oaxaca City, Mexico on 1975. She received her musical education from the Conservatory of Puebla and the University of Veracruz, where she was part of the cello studio of Anna Maklackiewicz. Later, she received lessons from the principal cellist of the Xalapa Symphonic Orchestra: David Nassidze, as well as from other world-class violoncello teachers such as Wolfgang Laufer, Richard Luvi, David Ying, Richard Markson and Yo-Yo Ma. In 1998 she won an important scholarship granted by the Government for young musicians. 

 Marcela Lagunas has participated in chamber music festivals in Mexico, such as the San Miguel de Allende Music Festival, editions XIX, XX, XXII and XXIV; and she has developed an important violoncello career performing chamber music in Mexico, France, U.S.A., and Canada.


Every year, The Congregation B’nai Israel and Jewish Community invites Marcela to perform Kol Nidrei by Marx Bruch during the Yom Kippur celebration. 


Marcela developed an outstanding career performing as soloist and as member of several symphonic orchestras such as the Xalapa Youth Symphony, the most relevant orchestra for its great contribution to Marcela’s experience as principal cellist, conducted by the legendary Maestro Luis Herrera de la Fuente. Among other important Mexican orchestras where Marcela was part of for twenty years highlight the Xalapa, Puebla, Queretaro and Oaxaca Symphony Orchestras, and the Acapulco Philharmonic. During that time span of her career, Marcela performed as soloist of the Puebla, Queretaro and Oaxaca orchestras. In Canada, she has performed in the Brock University String Ensemble, Symphony on the Bay and the Cambridge Symphony. 


Marcela Lagunas was professor of the Violin Makers Academy of the Beauty Arts Mexican Institute in Queretaro. She shared her performing experience being part of the St Miguel de Allende Chamber Festival Worshops. For twelve years she taught at the MoLag Music Performing Studio in Mexico. On 2019 she coached in the Península Orchestra Chamber Music Workshops at Brock University. 


Marcela Lagunas and Luis Gerardo Molina perform together in a duet called Stretto and have been part of international events such as the International Piano and Chamber Music Festival “pianestival” at the Joseph Kosma auditorium of the Regional Conservatory of Nice, France, the Blackerby Violin Shop 2012 Concert  Season in Austin TX and the “Miguel Aleman” Foundation's Library 2014 season in Mexico City. 
Since 2017, Stretto  has promoted several chamber music concert seasons in venues all across Niagara, were Marcela and Luis are residing, collaborating with other local artists.
